An incredible journey from Mormon Fundamentalism to New Atheism to ChristRaised in a fundamentalist Mormon sect, Jared Larson believed he possessed the truth about God. Yet, as his family of origin deteriorated and the prophecies of their cult leader went unfulfilled, questions roiled under the surface. At first, atheism was Jared's secret reprieve from the cult's suffocating dogma. But he had an inescapable sense that he was loved by a creator. He was caught between worlds: the rigid religion he no longer trusted, and atheism that left him wanting.
Into that crisis stepped an unexpected guide: C. S. Lewis. After reading several of Lewis's books, Jared began to see that the deepest questions of the human heart cannot be answered by an ideology--whether religious or secular--but only by a Person. Step by step, arguments that once seemed certain began to crumble. Truth was not merely an idea to defend but a living reality found in Jesus Christ.
This riveting personal memoir is about leaving a faith without losing faith altogether. It's about escaping oppression and finding true freedom for the first time. For skeptics, doubters, those deconstructing their faith, and believers who long to go deeper, At the Feet of the Lion offers a unique look at Christianity--one that doesn't ignore spiritual abuse or seemingly impossible circumstances, yet never fails to excite the mind and stir the heart.
