The Bible gives us a framework for understanding gender and sexual identity that leads to true human flourishing. Indeed, Scripture sings a better song about sexuality than the sirens of our secular age.
This collection of essays comprises three years of reflections from contributors to the Charis Symposium, presented at our annual meetings from 2021 to 2023. They were written by pastors, professors, and ministry leaders within the Charis Fellowship, a network of 230 churches and ministries spread across the United States and Canada.
In these papers, we exegete key texts from the Old and New Testaments; construct a theology of gender and sexuality that deals with sin, embodiment, suffering, and redemption; and provide implications for Chrisitan engagement with LGBTQ+ people.
We hope this collected volume will serve as a helpful resource for the Charis Fellowship as we seek to follow Christ faithfully in the midst of our culture's ever-changing views of gender and sexual identity. May we all sing this better song together!
